Scene 1: Out on the lawn [On the front lawn, Oobi and Grampu are relaxing in lawn chairs.]
Oobi: Oh, hi. Oobi, Grampu front yard. Yeah.Oobi and Grampu: [both sigh]Grampu: Sunshine beautiful.Oobi: Sunshine beautiful.[Oobi hears a wailing siren in the distance.]
[Two firefighters pass by, driving their fire engine.]
Oobi: Oh, fire engine. Firefighters. Cool. [imitates a siren and laughs] Siren.Oobi: Hey, Oobi siren. You siren. Ready? You , siren. Hmm?Oobi and Voices: [all imitating siren]Oobi: [laughter] Good siren. [sighs] Firefighter cool.[Next, a musician passes by, strumming his guitar.]
Musician: ♪ Doobi, doobi, doobi doo. Doobi, doobi, doo. Doobi, doobi, doobi doo. Doobi, doobi, doo. ♪Grampu: Oh. Oh, uh, musician.[Oobi imitates the musician's song.]
Oobi: ♪ Doobi, doobi, doobi doo. Doobi, doobi, doo. ♪ [laughs][A businessperson walks by, talking into her bluetooth headset.]
Businessperson: Meeting. Meeting, work, business. Lunch, lunch, lunch. Business, work, meeting.Grampu: Oh, uh, businessperson.Oobi: Ah, businessperson cool.[Grampu doesn't agree.]
Oobi: Huh. [sighs] Firefighter, musician, businessperson. Hmm. Grown-ups cool.[Oobi does a thumbs-up.]
Grampu: Grown-ups cool. Kids cool.[Grampu does a thumbs-up too.]
Oobi: Uh-uh. Grown-ups cool.Grampu: Oobi! Pretend grown-up?Oobi: Pretend grown-up? Oobi play!Scene 2: Grown-up clothes Oobi: [to the viewers] Oh. Oobi pretend grown-up.Grampu: [groaning off screen][Oobi walks over to Grampu, who's bringing in a huge trunk full of clothes.]
[Grampu takes some of the clothes out.]
Grampu: Grown-up clothing.Oobi: Ooh, grown-up clothing.[Someone knocks on the door.]
[Oobi opens the door, and Kako walks inside.]
[Oobi and Kako do their secret handshake.]
Oobi and Kako: Whoo! [laughing]Kako: [looking at the clothes] Ooh.[Grampu puts a golfer's hat on Oobi's head.]
Kako: Oh! Pretend grown-up. Kako play.[Oobi and Kako look through the clothes.]
Scene 3: Pretend firefighters [Oobi and Kako run around the living room, dressed like firefighters.]
Oobi and Kako: [imitating siren and horns honking]Oobi: Oobi, Kako help people.[Oobi takes out a belt and pretends it's a hose.]
Oobi: [imitating rushing water] Shh...Oobi and Kako: [imitating water] Shhh...[Oobi points to an elephant toy on top of Grampu's piano.]
Oobi: Ooh, look! Elephant!Kako: [imitating water] Shhh...[Oobi and Kako run over to the elephant toy. Oobi tries to bring it down, but he can't reach it.]
[Kako helps push Oobi up.]
Oobi and Kako: [grunting][Oobi grabs the elephant and brings it down to the center table.]
Oobi: Whoo! Elephant safe.[Kako picks up the elephant and pretends it can talk.]
Kako: [as the elephant] My hero! [kissing noises]Oobi: [embarrassed] Kako!Kako: [laughing] Firefighters hooray![While the boys cheer, Uma walks in.]
Kako: Kako, Oobi pretend grown-ups.[All three kids run over to the trunk full of clothes.]
Oobi: Oobi, Kako, Uma pretend grown-up.Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [laughing]Scene 4: Musicians [Now, the kids are dressed as musicians. Oobi is a tambourine player, Kako is a guitar player, and Uma is a singer.]
Kako: Kako musician. [strums his guitar]Oobi, Uma, and Kako: Yeah! [laughing]Oobi: Oobi tambourine. [jangles his tambourine]Kako: Kako guitar. [strums his guitar]Uma: Uma singer. La, la, la, la. [looks at the viewers] Oh! Uma sing, "la, la, la." You sing, "la, la, la." Ready? You , sing.Uma and Voices: [all singing together]Uma: Ooh, you good musician. Hmm.Oobi: Hey, musicians play together!Kako: Yeah, musicians together.Kako: And a one and a two and a...Uma: La, la, la, la. La, la, la, la. Laaaaa!Oobi and Kako: [laughing]Kako: See, musicians cool.Oobi: See, Uma, grown-ups cool.Uma: Hmm. Kids cooler, hmm.[Oobi and Kako walk back to the trunk of clothes.]
Oobi and Kako: Come on. Come on! Come on.[The kids start throwing clothes everywhere.]
Scene 5: Interviews [An interview segment starts. Grampu interviews a girl named Brynne, who is holding toy tools.]
Grampu: Hi, Brynne. Oh, one day Brynne grown up. Job?Grampu: Oh, doctor. Show Grampu.[Brynne holds a toy otoscope up to Grampu's eyes.]
Brynne: This is for your eyes like this. They're good.[Next, Brynne puts a toy thermometer in Grampu's mouth.]
Brynne: And this is for your mouth.[Finally, Brynne puts a toy stethoscope on Grampu's arm.]
Brynne: And this is-- and this is for, um, your heartbeat.Grampu: Oh. Oh! Brynne good doctor. Grampu healthy?Grampu: Oh, good. Whew. [laughs] Lovely.Boy: I don't like to be a grown-up 'cause we never can grow back to a kid. I still want to be a kid.Scene 6: Businesspeople [Now, the kids are dressed up in business clothes.]
Oobi: Oobi businessperson. Ha!Kako: Kako businessperson.Oobi: Business, business, business?[The boys take out a stack of sticky notes. They start sticking them everywhere.]
Oobi: Business, business.Oobi: Hmm, business, business.[Uma has a toy cell phone and pretends to talk on it.]
Uma: [imitating a cell phone] Boop, beep, beep, boo, boop, bee, boop. Hello, Uma! Talk, talk, talk. Talk, talk, talk. Ooh, business work. Bye.[Uma joins Oobi and Kako. They all stick the sticky notes everywhere.]
Oobi: Business, business.Oobi: Oh, Uma? Uma phone?[Uma gives her toy phone to Oobi.]
Oobi: [on the phone] Hello. Work, work. Business, business. Ooh, Uma.[Oobi gives the phone back to Uma. Meanwhile, he and Kako keep saying “work, business, paper” over and over.]
Uma: [on the phone] Hello! Uma! Talk, talk. Talk, talk, talk. [getting louder] Talk, talk, talk!Oobi and Kako: Business. Paper. Work, paper. Paper, work.[Soon, there is too much talking and paper-shuffling for the kids to handle. They all fall down in a flurry of sticky notes.]
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: Aah!Oobi and Kako: [realizing] Kids cooler.[Uma leaves, satisfied that the boys now agree with her.]
Scene 7: An astronaut [Oobi walks outside. He says hi to the family's garden gnome, Fritz.]
Oobi: Hey, Fritz. Hi, Grampu.[Just then, an astronaut walks by the house.]
Astronaut: [breathing loudly]Grampu: [gasps] Astronaut! Grampu, Oobi wave. [to the viewers] Oh, you wave. Ready? You wave.Voice #2: Hi, astronaut, hi! Hi!Grampu: Hi, astronaut. [sighs] Astronaut. Wow!Grampu: “Eh"? Grown-ups cool.Grampu: [shrugs] Yes, kids cooler.[Oobi turns to the viewers to say goodbye.]
Oobi: Oobi, you friends. Bye.Voice #3: Bye, bye, Oobi. Bye.
