Transcript

"Hide and Seek!" is an episode of Oobi from season one. Like the rest of the season, it is a short that aired during commercial breaks.

Plot

Oobi and Uma are outside, standing in front of a bunch of sunflowers. Uma wants to play hide and seek, so Oobi goes to hide while she seeks. Uma starts to count, and Oobi tries to figure out a good hiding spot. He gets the idea to hold up a sunflower and hide behind it.

Uma finishes counting and looks around for Oobi, but she can't find him. After looking around, Uma asks the viewers if they know where he is. Some off-screen voices tell her: "he's in a flower!" Uma realizes where Oobi's been hiding and finds him. She thanks the viewers for their help and blows them a kiss. An off-screen voice says back: "You're welcome!"

The scene where Oobi holds the sunflower is featured in the original opening theme for season one.
The sunflowers from this episode were recreated in plastic for the Oobi Educational Tour in 2001, where guests could take a picture with their head inside one of the sunflowers.
This episode was shown at the Kids First! Film Festival in 2001. The Kids First website published some reviews from kids who went to the festival, including one kid who wrote: "When the girl hand kissed us - I loved that part the most." (source)
