Jennifer Barnhart is a veteran puppeteer and voice artist. On Oobi, she played Mrs. Johnson and numerous incidental characters. She is one of the rarely seen left-handed puppeteers. Out of every hand puppet on Oobi, Jennifer's characters are the only left hands on the show.

Jennifer Barnhart received her BFA in puppetry from the University of Connecticut's Puppet Arts Program. She began her puppetry career working on the Animal Planet series "Once Upon a Tree," which also starred Tim Lagasse.

She subsequently played Cleo the Lion on Between the Lions, before joining the cast of Sesame Street and John Tartaglia's Johnny and the Sprites. Jennifer has worked on Sesame Street since 2001. She has been the main performer of major character Zoe since 2016.

Jennifer was the longest-running member of the original Broadway cast of Avenue Q, portraying her original roles of Mrs. Thistletwat and all-purpose assistant. She understudied the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy T. Slut, both originated by Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Uma on Oobi). Jennifer briefly returned to her former roles in an Off-Broadway production of Avenue Q in 2013 and has consulted for regional productions of the show.
