Nick Jr. is a cable channel owned by Nickelodeon. It is named after the Nick Jr. block, a programming block that has aired on the main Nickelodeon channel since 1988. The separate Nick Jr. channel was launched in 2009 as a replacement for Noggin.

Reruns of Oobi were regularly shown on the channel. In mid-2013, most older shows were removed from the main lineup, including Oobi. The show was later moved to the Noggin App, a mobile streaming service.

History

In 2009, it was announced that Nick Jr. would be replacing Noggin as Nickelodeon's 24-hour preschool channel. Noggin relaunched as Nick Jr. on September 29, 2009. The final mascots of Noggin, the Moose and Zee characters, remained on the Nick Jr. channel until 2012.

Oobi reruns were played as part of the channel's main lineup, beginning in 2009. New bumpers and commercials featuring Oobi were made. In 2013, the channel removed nearly all of its Noggin programming from the daily lineup. Older shows are still occasionally broadcast for special events and holidays, and they appear in commercials aired on Nick Jr. to advertise the Noggin App.
