Transcript

"Painting!" is an episode of Oobi from season one. Like the rest of the season, it is a short that aired during commercial breaks.

Plot

Oobi is in the playroom. He uses finger paints to draw two circles on an art easel. The camera zooms out to show that he's making a portrait of Uma, and the circles are her eyes. Uma is posing for Oobi, and she does her best to hold still so he can draw her. After Oobi finishes the portrait, Uma says she wants to paint a picture of herself, too. She covers herself in paint and makes a handprint. While the episode fades to black, Oobi and Uma admire their paintings.

A wall of abstract artwork is seen behind Oobi's canvas. The same wall appears again in "Macaroni Jewelry!" and "Drawing Game!". It is part of the playroom, a short-lived set that was only used in season one.
The plot of this episode is similar to a scene in "Grampu Day!", where Grampu poses while Oobi makes a statue of him.
