Scene 1: A parade poster
[The episode starts with a close-up of a parade poster. It shows a group of hand puppets marching. The camera zooms out to reveal that it's on Oobi 's fridge.]
Oobi: [looking at the poster] Yeah.
Oobi: [to the viewers] Oh, hi! Look, look! Parade. Oobi love parade.
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [all sighing]
Grampu : [laughs] Parade special day. Celebration. Band, float.
Oobi: Yeah, float, see? [points to it on the poster] Float.
Uma: Major-tet... major-zet-maj...
Grampu: Majorette. Parade leader.
Oobi: Yeah, majorette march.
Oobi: Oh, Oobi, Kako show Uma.
Oobi and Kako: [together] March, march, march, march. March, march, march, march. Turn! March, march, march, march, march.
Oobi: [to the viewers] Oobi, Kako march. You march. Ready? You march.
Oobi, Kako, and Voices: [all] March, march, march, march, march.
Oobi, Uma, Kako, and Voices: [all] March, march, march, march. March, march, march, march, march. Turn! [they chant "march" x14]
Uma: Grampu, parade today?
Grampu: Oh, no, not today. Soon.
Uma: Oh. [pauses] Parade today.
Uma: Yes, today. Oobi, Kako, Uma make parade. Band, float, majorette, marching... today!
Oobi and Kako: [together] Ooh! Parade today!
Uma: Yes. Oobi, Kako, come.
Oobi and Kako: Yeah. Parade!
Scene 2: Kako's one-man band
[The kids walk over to the counter.]
Uma: Okay, first, make band.
Uma: Yes. Instruments. Kako?
[On the countertop, there are three instruments: a drum, bells, and a horn.]
Kako: Ah, drum. [plays the drum and laughs] Kako like.
Kako: Oh, bells! Ooh. [jingles the bells] Kako like.
Kako: Horn... [squeaks the horn] Yeah! Kako like.
Uma: [annoyed] Kako! All day, haven't got.
Kako: Okay. But Kako like... all.
Uma: Okay, Kako play all.
Kako: Oh, okay, Ka-- Kako play all?
Kako: Kako play all? Kako play all? Kako play all? Hmm. [gets pulled off-screen by Uma] Whoop!
[Kako pops back on screen, wearing all three instruments.]
Uma: [laughs] Kako one-man band.
[Kako squeaks the horn and starts drumming.]
Scene 3: Oobi's float
[Uma brings Oobi over near the fridge.]
[Uma looks around for something to use for a parade float. She spots some grapes in a fruit bowl.]
[Uma puts the grapes on Oobi's head and makes him march around with them.]
Uma: March. Hmm. Hmm, nah, nah.
[Oobi puts the grapes away.]
[She gives him the bananas.]
Uma: March. Hmm, hmm, nah. Um, float, float, float, flo... oh!
[Uma finds a fuzzy, pink slipper shaped like a bunny.]
Uma: Bunny slipper, float.
[Oobi thinks the slipper is embarrassing and refuses to wear it.]
Oobi: [shakes his head "no"] Uh-uh.
[Uma pulls him down and puts him in the slipper.]
Oobi: Oh, oh! Oh, hey, oh!
Uma: Hmm? Float. [points to the parade poster] Float. Good. March!
[Oobi marches back and forth, obviously uncomfortable.]
Uma: Mm-hmm. Okay, moving on.
[Kako sees Oobi's slipper and laughs at it.]
Oobi: [angrily] Laugh, music boy.
Uma: Kako, Oobi, play nice. So... band ready, float ready. Next, majorette. Uma get ready. Kako, Oobi, practice.
Scene 4: Interview
[The scene cuts to an interview segment while Uma prepares her majorette costume.]
Vivian: [laughing] Hi, Grampu!
Grampu: Ooh, costume pretty. Vivian in parade?
Grampu: Really? What parade?
Grampu: Oh, circus parade. What in circus parade? Animals? [she nods] Wow. Band?[she nods] Wow. Float? [she nods again] Wow. Oh, uh, Grampu, Vivian pretend parade now, hmm? Oh, good. Okay, so in parade... wave to the people. Hi! Hi! We're in parade! [humming] [laughs] Parade fun, huh? Parade fun.
Scene 5: Uma the majorette
[Back in the kitchen, Oobi and Kako are practicing. Kako is squeaking the horn and drumming.]
Kako: Oh! Kako play. [imitates a drum] Boom, boom, boom. You play. Boom, boom, boom. Ready? You , play! Boom, boom, boom. Boom, boom, boom. Boom, boom, boom. Good!
Uma: [off screen] Uma ready.
[Uma hums and walks in, wearing a sparkly majorette outfit. Oobi and Kako watch her in awe.]
Uma: Uma majorette, parade leader.
Oobi and Kako: [together] Wow...
[Oobi and Kako quickly look away.]
Uma: Kako, Oobi, line up. Parade now! [humming]
Grampu: Parade! Uma majorette, Kako band! Oobi... um, uh...
Uma and Kako: [together] Float!
Grampu: Oh, of course. Float. Lovely.
Grampu: Uh, Uma, Oobi, Kako, parade outside?
Oobi and Kako: Parade outside.
Uma: Parade outside! Follow majorette.
Scene 6: Marching outside
[The kids march outside. Some of the neighbors are there.]
Uma: March, march, march. March, march, march. March, march, march.
Grampu: Parade lovely. Oh, oh, show neighbors.
Neighbors: Parade, parade, parade?
Grampu: [to the viewers] You help start parade! Grampu say, "One, two, three, start." You say, "One, two, three, start." Ready? You say, "One, two, three, start."
Grampu and Voices: [all] One, two, three, start!
[Music starts to play as the kids sing the song "Parade March ."]
Uma: Parade! Parade today! Parade, marching band, Oobi float, majorette, A-OK.
Oobi and Kako: March down street!
Oobi and Kako: Wave to friends!
Uma: Parade day, music, neighbors, good time never ends.
Oobi and Kako: Never ends!
Uma: Parade! Parade today! Parade, costumes, drumming, singing, A-OK.
Oobi and Kako: Hi, Mrs. Johnson!
Oobi and Kako: Hi, Angus, too!
Uma: Parade, walk down street like queen of Kalamazoo.
Oobi and Kako: Kalamazoo!
Uma: Parade day, time to tell whole neighborhood, "I love you!"
Oobi and Kako: I love you!
Grampu: Hooray, bravo! Parade, parade! Ooh! [to the viewers] You cheer parade. Ready? You , cheer for parade. Hooray!
Grampu and Voices: Hooray! Hooray! Yeah! Yay! Hooray!
Oobi: [to the viewers] Oh! Oobi, you, friends! Bye.
Voice #1: [girl] Bye-bye, Oobi. Bye.
