"Pretend Catch!" is an episode of Oobi from season one. Like the rest of the season, it is a short that aired during commercial breaks. PlotOobi and Kako are playing pretend in the backyard. Kako tells Oobi to "throw," and Oobi reaches for an imaginary ball. He pretends to throw it to Kako, who motions to catch it. They play catch back and forth until Oobi notices the viewers and invites them to join in. He asks Kako to throw the imaginary ball at the camera, as if they were playing with the viewers. They pretend to play catch with the off-screen viewers until they both try to catch at the same time and crash into each other. They get back up and dust themselves off. Impressed, Kako tells the viewers "Good throw." He and Oobi each give a thumbs-up as the episode ends. Characters
