"Quiet Read!" Episode number Season 1, Episode 22 Previous episode "Bongo Drums!" Next episode "Clap Hands!" "Quiet Read!" is an episode of Oobi from season one. Like the rest of the season, it is a short that aired during commercial breaks. Plot The short starts with Oobi quietly reading a book. The camera pans over to Uma, who starts playing loud electric guitar music on her boombox. As Uma dances along, Oobi asks her to play it quieter. She can't hear him over the loud music and keeps dancing. Oobi raises his voice over the music and gets Uma's attention. Sad that she won't get to finish her song, she turns off the boombox and dejectedly says that she will be quiet. Oobi thinks of a compromise and takes out a pair of headphones. He gives them to Uma so she can listen to music while he reads. While she listens, Uma starts scatting along to the rhythm and making a ruckus. Realizing he won't get to read in peace, Oobi decides to join in and dance. (source) The background seems to be a library or a craft studio. Uma's boombox appears again in the "Dance Class!" episode. Since Uma doesn't have ears, it's unknown how she's actually able to use headphones.
