Scene 1: Nerves of steel[The episode begins as Oobi is practicing on the piano for his recital.] Oobi: [chuckles] Yeah. Oh, hi. Oobi practice. Today, community center, Oobi play piano! Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Yeah. [Oobi practices more on the piano.] Oobi: Hey! Oobi play, you sing. Ready? You sing. Voice #1: Okay, Oobi. Voices: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, how I wonder what you are. Oobi: [chuckles] Wow! You good singer. Grampu: Bravo! Bravo! Oobi: [playfully] Grampu, stop! Grampu: Oobi, community center. Ready? Oobi: Oobi ready. Um, Uma coming? Grampu: No, Uma. Today at Aunt Oota's. Oobi: Oh yeah. [laughs] Grampu: Today big day. Recital. Oobi nervous? Oobi: Uh-uh. [Oobi makes a pose.] Grampu: Ooh. Oobi nerves steel. Oobi: Yes. Nerves steel. Grampu: Grampu proud. [Oobi and Grampu laugh and leave.] Scene 2: Interview[The first interview begins with Uma and a kid named Elijah, who is holding a guitar.] Uma: Hi, Elijah. Elijah: Hello. Uma: Instrument what? Elijah: Um, guitar. Uma: Ooh, guitar. Elijah play guitar for Uma? [Elijah plays his guitar.] Uma: Nice. Uma play instrument. Elijah: What? Uma: Uma play Uma. See? [Uma snaps her fingers and dances.] Uma: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Elijah play guitar, Uma play Uma together? Elijah: Okay! [Elijah plays his guitar while Uma snaps and dances.] Uma: Nice! Take bow. Elijah: Thank you, thank you! [The interview ends.] Scene 3: At the community center[We now cut to Oobi and Grampu arriving at the community center.] Grampu: [chuckles] Okay, Oobi. Showtime. [chuckles] Grampu in audience. [Grampu fixes Oobi's tie.] Grampu: Look good. [kisses Oobi] Oobi: Thanks, Grampu! [Just then, Inka arrives.] Inka: [lovingly] Ooh, Grampu. Grampu: [lovingly] Inka. [Grampu leaves as Inka waves bye. She goes to talk to Oobi and her other student, Angus.] Inka: Oobi, Angus, today recital. Oobi, Angus perform. Angus play "Mary Had Little Lamb." Angus: [gulps] Inka: Oobi play "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Oobi: Great! [In the audience section, everyone is chatting with each other. Grampu is waiting for the show to start.] Angus: [gasps] Audience big! [gulps] Inka: Angus, Oobi, warm-up. Stretch. Stretch and Shake, shake, shake, Oobi: [to the viewers] Oobi shake, you shake. Ready? You shake. Oobi and Voices: Shake, shake, shake! Shake, shake, shake! Oobi: Good shaking. Inka: Angus, shake. Angus: Oh, shake. Inka: Yes! Angus: Shake. Inka: Oh. [Inka leaves.] Angus: Oobi, nervous? Oobi: Oobi, nerves steel. [Oobi strikes his pose from earlier.] Angus: [scared] Oh, Angus nerves jelly! Oobi: Okay, over soon. Inka: Recital begin! Angus: NOW??? Inka: Yes, Angus. First. Angus: Angus first? Oh. [gulps] Scene 4: Angus and Oobi perform[Scene changes. Kako arrives at the community center and says hi to people as he passes by them. He then sits down next to Grampu.] Inka: Hello, hello. Seats please. Welcome Inka piano students recital. Enjoy! First, Angus. [The audience claps.] Inka: Angus? Yes. Angus, "Mary Had Little Lamb." Enjoy! Angus: [gulps] Angus first. [Angus is still nervous. He then plays "Mary Had a Little Lamb" perfectly. The audience claps after he plays it.] Inka: Ooh! [Angus takes a bow.] Inka: Very good, Angus! Very nice! Yes! [The camera switches to the audience.] Grampu: Oh, lovely! Kako: Hmm. [The camera cuts back to Inka.] Inka: Mmm, yes. Next, Oobi. [The audience claps again.] Inka: Oobi, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Oobi: Oh! [chuckles] [Oobi takes a deep breath and is about to start playing. Suddenly, an audience member's phone rings and she answers it.] Girl in audience: [obnoxiously] Oh! Hello?! Kako: Shh! [angrily] Oobi, Kako, best friends. Girl in audience: [indignant] Ugh, okay! [The woman puts her phone away. Oobi begins playing. He plays perfectly at first, but then messes up on the last note.] Kako: [gasps in shock] [Oobi tries again but fails on the last note once again.] Oobi: Um, sorry! [Oobi leaves and Inka tries to stop him.] Inka: But, but, but Oobi! [laughs nervously] Yes, intermission. Short break. [laughs] Oobi? Oobi? Scene 5: Talking backstage[We now cut to Oobi feeling upset that he messed up during the recital.] Angus: Oobi? Heh, good job! [Angus gives him a thumbs up.] Oobi: Angus... Angus: Trying. [Angus leaves and Inka arrives to have a talk with Oobi.] Inka: Oobi, try again? Oobi: No way. Inka: Why? Oobi: Oobi mistake. Inka: So? Oobi not perfect. Inka not perfect. Nobody perfect. Oobi: Nobody? Inka: Nobody! [Kako suddenly arrives.] Kako: Kako, perfect! [Laughs] Inka: [laughing] Kako! Kako: Umm, allow Kako? Inka: Mm-hmm. [Inka steps back. Kako walks up to Oobi.] Kako: [to Inka] More? Inka: Oh. [Inka leaves.] Kako: [to Oobi] Oobi, um, Oobi good. Oobi really good! Oobi: Oobi mess up! Kako: So? No big deal. Oobi: No big deal? Kako: Listen. Birthday? Big deal. Lost puppy? Big deal. Alien spaceship? Really big deal. Messing up, no big deal. Oobi: Messing up no big deal? Kako: Mmm-hmm. Messing up, just... life. Oobi: Messing up just life. Huh. Kako: Kako love Oobi music. Oobi: Yes. Kako: Oobi finish. Oobi: Oobi try. Kako: Good! [to Inka] Piece of cake. Inka: Thank you! Hmm. [Kako leaves.] Inka: Oobi, look good. [kisses Oobi] Oobi: Thanks, Inka. Scene 6: Oobi tries again[We now cut back to the stage. The audience members are chatting again.] Girl in audience: Oobi, hope okay. Inka: Now, Oobi! [The audience members talk to each other.] Oobi: Before Oobi mess up, no big deal. Now, Oobi try again! Inka: Hand big for Oobi! Kako: Yeah! [The audience members cheer.] Kako: [loudly] Whoo-hoo, whoo-hoo! Oobi, Oobi, Oobi, Oobi! [The audience members turn and face Kako.] Kako: Oh. Shhhhhh! [Oobi takes a deep breath and then plays "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" without messing up.] Inka: Oh, very nice Oobi! [The audience cheers and claps.] Kako: Oh! [to the viewers] Grampu, Kako clap... [Kako and Grampu demonstrate.] Kako: You clap. Ready? You, clap! [Everyone claps.] Voice #1: Yay! Voice #2: I'm clapping, I'm clapping! [Everyone cheers and claps for Oobi.] Inka: Inka proud. Oh, yes! [Oobi plays the last seven notes. Everyone cheers afterwards. Oobi then plays them again.] Inka: Okay, very nice! [Oobi is about to play the notes again, but Inka stops him.] Inka: Oobi, play more next recital. [laughs] Oobi: Ooh. [to viewers] Oobi, you, friends. Bye! Voice: Bye, Oobi! |
