Scene 1: Looking for a snack [Oobi and Kako walk into the kitchen.]
Oobi and Kako: [laughing]Oobi: [to the viewers] Oh, hi! Oobi, Kako find snack.Kako: Mm-hmm, snack, fruit?[After finding the fruit bowl, the boys do their secret handshake.]
[They look at the designs on the fruit bowl.]
Kako: Look, fruit, apple.Oobi: Look, fruit, orange.Kako: Orange, yum. [smacks his lips][Oobi and Kako turn the fruit bowl and see a banana design. They can't figure out which fruit it's supposed to be.]
Oobi: [to the viewers] Oh, you! Fruit, what kind? Ready? You, fruit, what kind?[The boys look in the fruit bowl, but it's empty.]
Kako: No banana, no orange, no apple.[Grampu walks in.]
Oobi: Grampu, no fruit! Fruit bowl empty.Oobi and Kako: Fruit store! [chanting] Fruit store, fruit store, fruit store!Scene 2: At the fruit store [At the fruit store , the owner Bella is admiring some flowers.]
Bella: [inhales deeply] Oh, nice.[Grampu opens the door to the store and walks inside.]
Grampu: Oobi, Kako, fruit store.Grampu: Fruit, every kind.[Grampu points to a scale, which is being used to weigh a bunch of grapes.]
[Next, the boys and Grampu walk over to the cash register.]
Grampu: Ooh. Cash register. Pay later.[Grampu and Bella hug. She gives him some kisses on the cheek.]
Grampu: Oobi, Kako? Bella. Fruit store owner.Bella: Grampu, fresh mangoes. Look see?Grampu: Ooh! Look see. Oobi, Kako, find bananas.Scene 3: Messing around [Oobi and Kako look around at the different fruits in the store.]
Oobi: Yeah. Hey, watermelon.Kako: Ooh, oh, look, cherries.Oobi: Yeah. Oh! Hey, bananas. Hmm, yeah.[Oobi picks up a bunch of bananas. Kako points to the scale.]
[Kako decides to take the bananas and weigh them.]
Oobi: Yeah, bananas heavy.[Next, Kako takes a pineapple and adds it onto the scale.]
Kako: Ah-ha. Pineapple heavier.Oobi: Yeah, bananas, pineapple, heavier.[Oobi gets an idea.]
[The boys walk over to a heavy watermelon. Oobi picks it up.]
Kako: Oh, yeah. Got it? Closer, closer.[Oobi adds the watermelon to the scale, which is about to collapse from all the weight.]
Kako: Banana, pineapple, watermelon heaviest.[Kako leaves and brings back a singlecherry.]
Oobi: Cherry on top. [laughing][The scale collapses and covers Kako in fruit.]
Kako: [gets up, wearing a fruit hat] Uh... [laughs]Oobi and Kako: [both laughing][Grampu rushes over.]
Grampu: Kako? [angrily] Lovely. Game over.Grampu: Oobi, Kako, clean up. Grampu explain. [calling out] Bella?Scene 4: Interviews [An interview segment starts. Uma is interviewing a girl named Grace.]
Uma: Hey, Grace, pretend shopping with Uma?[Grace nods.]
Uma: Okay, okay, here. Okay, Grace take tomato, and Grace be tomato-stand lady. And Uma buy tomato from Grace, okay?Uma: Okay, Grace one tomato, please.[Grace gives Uma a tomato.]
Uma: Thank you. Oh, here, here, money for Grace. Thank you for tomato, Grace.Uma: [pretends to eat the tomato] Tasty good tomato. Want a bite?Girl: I like shopping because I get to go and look at the lobsters.Boy: I like shopping because there's really good food there.Scene 5: The oranges fall [Back at the store, Oobi and Kako are helping Grampu shop. They're holding a basket to carry fruit.]
Oobi and Kako: [both humming][They walk in front of a stack of oranges.]
Grampu: Ooh, Oobi, Kako, one orange.Bella: Grampu, help Bella. Honeydews. Ugh!Oobi: Oobi, Kako, one orange.Kako: Yes, one, one orange.Oobi: Hmm, top, bottom? Choose.[Oobi and Kako look for the best-looking orange and decide to take one from the bottom.]
Kako: Top, bottom. Bottom.[Oobi takes the orange, which causes the whole stack of oranges to fall. Bella and Grampu come back.]
Bella: [shocked] Oranges!Grampu: [angrily] What? Oobi, Kako, food, not toys! Clean up, please, now!Scene 6: Grampu's talk [The stack of oranges has been rebuilt. Oobi puts the last remaining orange on the stack.]
Grampu: [clears his throat] Oobi, Kako, listen. Fruit store. Fruit Bella's, not yours. Respect.Grampu: Respect. Oranges no play.Grampu: No. Fruit store respect. Understand?Grampu: [happily] Oh, okay. [clears his throat] Basket, please. Find apples![Oobi and Kako happily pick up their basket and go to find some apples.]
Scene 7: Paying for the fruit [Oobi and Kako put their basket of fruit near the cash register.]
Grampu: Thank you, Oobi. Thank you, Kako.Oobi and Kako: [laughing][Bella opens her cash register. It clicks and opens with a ringing sound.]
Bella: Four coins, please.Grampu: Oobi, Kako, count four coins.Oobi: Hey, Oobi, Kako count four coins. You count four coins.Kako: Yeah, ready? You count four coins.[Grampu takes out his wallet. Kako takes coins out of it, and Oobi gives each coin to Bella.]
Oobi, Kako, and Voices: [all] One... two... three... four.Voice #3: Four coins. [laughing]Bella: Thank you! Good boys. Good helpers.Grampu: Good boys. Good helpers.[Bella gives Oobi and Kako a shopping bag full of the fruit they bought.]
Grampu: Thank you, Bella.Scene 8: Back at home [In the kitchen, Oobi and Kako are putting their new fruit in the fruit bowl.]
[Kako asks Grampu which fruit he'd like to have.]
Kako: Grampu! Grapes, banana, apple, orange?Kako: [confused] Grampu hungry?[Grampu takes the fruit bowl off screen.]
[Grampu pops up, wearing all of the fruit as a hat.]
Oobi, Kako, and Grampu: [all laughing][Oobi turns to the viewers to say goodbye.]
Oobi: Oobi, you, friends. Bye.Voice #4: [girl] Bye, bye, Oobi, bye.Voice #5: [boy] Bye, Oobi.
