Scene 1: At the park[Oobi, Kako, and Grampu are at the park. Kako is holding a cup-ball toy, and Grampu is setting up a picnic.]
[Kako gives the cup-ball toy to Oobi.]
Scene 2: The cup-ball game[Oobi and Kako look at their cup-ball toy.]
[Kako puts the toy down. Without holding the toy, he takes the ball and puts it in the cup easily.]
[Oobi tries to get the ball in the cup while holding the toy, but he has trouble.]
[Kako tries, but he can't get the ball in the cup while holding the toy, either.]
[Suddenly, a girl (Amy) walks up to Oobi and Kako.]
[Amy signs her name in sign language. Oobi and Kako don't understand.]
[Amy signs her name in sign language again.]
[Amy walks up to the cup-ball toy.]
[Amy takes the toy. She gets the ball in the cup on her first try.]
[Oobi tries a few times, but he still can't get the ball in the cup.]
[Amy taps on Oobi. She shows him to breathe deeply and calm himself down.]
[Oobi copies Amy.]
[Next, Amy demonstrates how to move the ball into the cup. Oobi tries three times, finally succeeding on the third try.]
[Oobi and Kako do their secret handshake to celebrate.]
[Next, Oobi high-fives Amy and does the handshake with her.]
[Kako tries wildly throwing the cup-ball toy around. It doesn't work.]
[Amy walks up to Kako.]
[Amy shows Kako the same thing she showed Oobi.]
[Kako tries playing the game calmly. He gets the ball in the cup.]
[Kako high-fives Oobi and Amy.]
[Amy gives a thumbs-up.]
[Oobi does a thumbs-up, too.]
[Amy waves goodbye.]
[Amy walks away.]
Scene 3: Back with Grampu[Grampu is reading a golf magazine. Oobi and Kako walk back up to him.]
[Kako looks around. He spots Amy near a bench with her mom.]
[Grampu notices that Amy and her mom are both communicating with sign language.]
[Oobi watches Amy and her mom. He tries to copy the signs they're making.]
[Grampu shows Kako the sign for "hello."]
[Kako does the sign for "hello."]
[Oobi looks at the viewers.]
Scene 4: Sign language with Amy[Amy and her mom are counting.]
[Oobi and Kako run up to them.]
[Oobi signs "hello."]
[Kako signs "hello."]
[Amy signs "hello" back to the boys.]
[Amy signs her name again.]
[Amy's mom signs Oobi's name.]
[Amy's mom signs Oobi's name again.]
[Oobi tries signing his name.]
[Amy's mom signs Kako's name.]
[Kako signs his name.]
[Amy and her mom do the sign for "friend."]
[Oobi and Amy do the sign for "friend" together.]
[Amy signs Oobi's name.]
[Next, Amy signs Kako's name.]
[Amy signs her own name.]
[Oobi and Amy do the sign for "friend" together again.]
[Kako and Amy do the sign for "friend."]
[Amy signs Oobi's name again.]
[Next, Amy signs Kako's name.]
[Amy does the sign for "play."]
[Amy taps Oobi, then runs away.]
[Oobi tries to tag Kako.]
[Oobi, Kako, and Amy keep playing tag.] Scene 5: Interview[An interview segment starts. Uma is interviewing a boy named Travis and his deaf mom.]
[Travis's mom does the sign for "fish."]
[Uma does the sign for "fish."]
[Travis's mom does the sign for "yellow."]
[Uma does the signs for "yellow" and "fish" together.]
Scene 6: Going home[Back at the park, Oobi, Kako, and Amy are still playing tag.]
[Amy does the sign for "one."]
[Amy does the sign for "goodbye."]
[Grampu does the sign, too.]
[Oobi, Kako, and Amy all do the sign for "goodbye." Then, Oobi notices the viewers.]
[Amy signs Oobi's name.]
