Transcript

"Soup!" is an episode of Oobi from season one. Like the rest of the season, it is a short that aired during commercial breaks.

Plot

Oobi, Uma, and Kako are in the kitchen, all huddled around a bowl of soup for Uma. Oobi and Kako sniff the air and think it smells delicious. Oobi scoops out some soup with a spoon, and Uma tastes it. She thinks it's too hot, so Kako blows on it to make it cool down.

Oobi asks the viewers to help blow on it. He holds the spoon out toward the camera, and the soup moves around in it, as if the viewers were actually blowing on it. Uma tries another taste and says it's very cold... but she likes it that way. She smacks her lips, and Oobi and Kako watch her with confused looks on their faces.

Uma wears a bib in this episode, marking the first time any character wears an accessory.
As with other episodes set in the kitchen, the lighting gives the characters an orange tint.
Two scenes from this episode are featured in the original opening theme for season one: Uma with her bib and Kako blowing on the soup.
