Scene 1: Oobi MacDonald [In the yard, Oobi , Uma , and Kako are listening to the radio.]
Man on Radio: ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O! ♪ Oobi: Oh, hi. Uma, Kako, Oobi sing. You sing. You , sing!Radio: ♪ Old MacDonald had a farm. ♪ Radio: ♪ And on that farm, he had a cow. ♪ Radio: ♪ With a moo-moo here, and a moo-moo there. Here a moo, there a moo, everywhere a moo-moo. Old MacDonald had a farm. ♪ Oobi: Oobi idea. Pretend animals!Uma: [scratches her head] Hmm...[Oobi leaves, then comes back wearing a sheep costume.]
Oobi: Oobi sheep. Baa! Baa![Kako pops up, wearing a mask that looks like a pig's nose.]
Kako: Kako pig. Oink, oink, oink, oink!Uma: Uma pretend animal. Excuse me.[Uma walks off and comes back in a chicken costume.]
Uma: Uma pretend chicken. [imitates a dog] Woof! Woof!Uma: Oh. Uma pretend chicken. Bawk! Bawk!Grampu :Oobi and Kako: [together] Lunch!Oobi: Pretend animal game over!Uma: Bawk! Uma chicken fun. Bawk! Bawk! Bawk! Bawk!Scene 2: Lunchtime [Oobi and Kako walk into the kitchen. Grampu sets out some sandwiches for them.]
Grampu: Ah, Oobi, Kako, lunch.Oobi and Kako: [together] Thanks!Uma: [still clucking like a chicken]Uma: Bawk bawk! Bawk, bawk, bawk, bawk.Grampu: [laughs] Lovely. Uma, lunch.Grampu: Peanut butter. Jelly, hmm?[Uma refuses to eat the sandwich, so Grampu brings over some sunflower seeds instead.]
[She tries the seeds and doesn't like them.]
Grampu: Peanut butter, jelly, eat?Uma: [shaking her head] Mm-mm. Peanut butter, jelly, peck.[Uma pecks at the sandwich with her "beak."]
Uma: Chicken fun. Peck, peck, peck... bawk, bawk.Scene 3: A baseball... or an egg? [Oobi and Kako go outside to play baseball. Kako throws the ball to Oobi.]
[Uma sits on the ball and pretends it's an egg.]
[Uma gives the "egg" to Oobi. Grossed out, he tries not to touch it.]
[Oobi tries to give it to Kako, but they're both disgusted.]
Oobi: [puts it down] Eesh.Scene 4: Meeting a real chicken [In the next scene, some time has passed. Oobi and Kako walk up to Uma.]
Oobi: [laughing] Oh, Uma, Uma. Hide and seek?Uma: Chicken, chicken, chicken.Oobi and Kako: [both sigh][The boys walk away. Uma turns to the viewers.]
Uma: Bawk! You chicken. Bawk, bawk, bawk! You , chicken.Uma and Voices: [all clucking]Uma: Yeah! Yeah, you chicken. [clucking][Uma hears a real hen in the distance.]
Hen :Uma: [gasps] Chicken? Oh, look! Chicken.Uma: Feathers. Beak. Feet. Chicken! Uma chicken. Chicken chicken. Play?[The chicken doesn't listen to her.]
Uma: Chicken? Play hide seek? Chicken? Egg? No egg. Chicken! Chicken no fun. [sighs] Chicken game over. Bye, chicken.Scene 5: Back to normal [Oobi and Kako are playing tag in the field. Uma runs over to them, now without her chicken costume.]
Oobi and Kako: [laughing]Uma: [shakes her head "no"] Uh-uh. Uma Uma.Kako: Good. Uma play tag?Uma: Mm-hmm, Uma play tag.Kako: Okay. [taps her nose] Uma it.Uma: Uma it! [to the viewers] Oh, you play tag. Mm-hmm, you play tag. You it!Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [all laughing]Scene 6: Interviews Oobi: Oobi pretend animal. Pretend sheep. Baa! Baa! You pretend sheep?Oobi: [laughs] Good. You, Oobi pretend sheep. Good, together.Oobi: [laughs] Yeah. You good sheep.Kako: You pretend animal?Kid #1: I'm a pig! Oink, oink, oink.Kid #2: Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack.Kid #3: Quack, quack, quack, quack.Kid #4: Meow. Meow. Meow.Kid #5: Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!Kid #4: I'm a dragon. Fffff!Zoe: [with her hand as an Oobi puppet] Bawk, bawk, bawk.Uma: Bawk, bawk. Zoe, Uma, pretend chicken?Uma and Zoe: [both clucking]Uma: Zoe lay egg? Zoe silly. You pretend chicken?Kako: You wild. [laughs] Perfecto.Scene 7: Game segment [Oobi and Uma are setting up an art easel.]
Oobi and Uma: [together] ♪ Game game, game game. Game game, game game. Game! ♪ Oobi: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Oobi draw animal. Uma, you guess. You guess.[He draws two circles.]
Voice #1: [boy] Panda bear.Voice #2: [boy] A mouse with one ear?[He draws two legs on one of the circles.]
Voice #3: [boy] Chipmunk? Squirrel?[He draws a triangle on the other circle, making it into a head with a beak.]
Voice #4: [boy] Chicken, it's a chicken.Uma: Ooh, yeah. Chicken! Chicken! Chicken![Oobi finishes the drawing by adding a comb, a tail, and wings.]
Oobi: Chicken body, chicken feet, chicken beak. Chicken, good.[Grampu comes over, wearing his own chicken costume.]
Uma: Chicken? Oh, Grampu! Silly.[He starts to peck her. She runs away, laughing.]
Oobi: [laughs] Oobi, you, friends! Bye.Voice #5: [girl] Bye-bye, Oobi. Bye!
